Temporary Anchorage Devices (TADs)

TADs are miniscrews or plates used to facilitate and control tooth movement during orthodontic treatment.  These are removed after the end of treatment therefore the name “Temporary Anchorage Devices”.  They are minimally invasive and cost effective.  TADs are useful for space closure, tooth uprighting, open bite correction, molar distalization, and a number of other applications.  They can provide the orthodontist with needed anchorage or fixed point to perform these orthodontic movements, therefore saving patients from long orthodontic treatment time, and possibly avoiding certain appliances such as headgears and surgeries.
